Sones & Jones Flips

In this video, you’re going to learn about Sones & Jones Flips. These flips are really unique because the right hand is flipping a different direction than the left hand. This gives you contrary motion that looks really cool.

Important information:

• The right hand rotates outward and the left hand rotates inward
• Both cymbals should land at the same time
• Your hands and cymbals should take a direct pathway
• You really need to push with your thumbs and rotate your wrists to get the full cymbal rotation
• A lot of the power for these flip downs come from your shoulders
