Seavine Scholarships
The Cymbal Scholarship
Seavine was founded on the idea of giving back. Since day one, this has consisted of selling useful products for cymbal players and funding scholarships for cymbal players. And so it is, 83 scholarships and $30,000 later we’ve been able to assist with a lot of membership fees for DCI and WGI cymbal players.
100% of our proceeds fund The Cymbal Scholarship. Every pair of The Cymbal Gloves and every T-shirt you purchase go towards our philanthropic goal of helping as many performers as we can.

Welcome to the 2024 DCI Cymbal Scholarship! This scholarship is designed in hopes to get financial assistance to those that need it most.
Eligibility for The Cymbal Scholarship is for all contracted DCI cymbal players in all classes for the 2024 season including World, Open, and All-Age. No applicant can owe previous membership fees to any WGI or DCI ensemble. Your ensemble must be competing at DCI Championships in Indianapolis, IN.
The application consists of one video submission. Each applicant is to submit a video for full point consideration. The video will be scored based off of 70% content and 30% execution. We are excited to give applicants the opportunity to express themselves in spoken format.
For the video submission please read the following information:
- Video must be a minimum length of 2 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes
- Video submission must be uploaded to YouTube as an UNLISTED link
The judging panel consists of former and current cymbal educators along with other qualified leaders within the marching community. It is important to remember that the adjudication process is subjective but judging guidelines and rubrics are followed to the utmost detail and transparency.
In the event that you win The Cymbal Scholarship and do not finish your marching season, you are expected to return all scholarship monies to Seavine before DCI Championships have concluded.
The Cymbal Scholarship is made possible by cymbal players and for cymbal players. The Cymbal Scholarship is fully funded by Seavine profits and is only possible by all of the incredible performers and educators that purchase our products such as The Cymbal Gloves.
We are incredibly excited to offer the only scholarship designated to those that play a unique part in the drumline as a marching cymbal player. Best of luck with your application and have a great DCI season!
