Strap Tying

In this video you are going to learn how to tie your cymbal straps and tape your cymbal knots.

What you’ll need:

• Pair of cymbals
• Hand reamer or sand paper
• Cymbal Straps
• Cymbal Pads
• Electrical Tape
• Scissors

Cymbal strap tying is essentially the same box knot you learned in summer camp. The reason we tape our knots is so your straps stay nice and tight. If a strap ever breaks in a performance, your cymbal is more likely to survive on your hand if you have the knot taped.
