Standby Position

In this video you’re going to learn about Standby Position. Standby is used for rehearsal etiquette before or after a cymbal player or cymbal line has a rep. This is a position that looks professional compared to just standing there. It’s relaxed, yet engaged and defined at the same time.

Important definitions:

• Right cymbal over left tucked under your pad
• Cymbals straight up and down
• Logos in line
• Arms rounded
• Cymbals right below belly button
• Fingers spread out
• Perfect posture
